Tower Hill Garden Explorers

A drop-in program for children ages 6+, Tower Hill Garden Explorers will discover Nature in the Garden through fun, hands-on activities based on a monthly theme from late Spring through early Autumn.  Sessions will include guided garden walks & games, nature exploration & learning and light seasonal garden tasks such as planting.

Thursdays 6:00 to 7:30 pm

Drop off/sign in at six pm at the Flagpole/Habitat Garden across from the Museum entrance.   We will take some time to introduce ourselves and our theme for the evening. At the end of each evening, we will climb the Tower to see where the sun is setting over the Big Sound.

May 28 - Spring Awakenings

We had a lovely evening for our first program. The group was small but had fun learning about frogs, checking out the tadpoles and making origami frogs. We planted flowers in the Butterfly Garden and climbed the Tower to see where the sun was setting.

June 25- Summer Solstice

We were almost rained out for our first summer program. The children found teeny frogs in the pond, colourful bugs in the woods and pulled some of the rapidly growing weeds in their Butterfly Garden.

July 23- Our Soil is full of Life

Join us as we take a close look at the soil in the woods and garden and learn about how dead trees and plants are turned into rich soil to support the circle of life.  

We will check in on our friends in the pond and end our evening with the setting sun.
